So, for those who don't know, what game streaming is is essentially like Netflix streaming where you're having a video come to you, but instead you're actually controlling a different PC that's not your own. So, you can do this on a laptop. There's even some cases where you can do it on like consoles and mini PCs and all kinds of different things. Linux, Windows, I mean, the OS doesn't even really matter, but the end all be all is we're going to be using the most popular one today, which is the Nvidia game streaming service. And we're going to be versing it towards a normal gaming PC to kind of see, can anyone notice a difference? And we always got to get this out of the way. This is GeForce Now, Nvidia. Nvidia is not sponsoring this video in no way, shape, or form. They don't see this video, none of that. This whole video is going to be an experiment just out of pure curiosity for me cuz I saw an LTT video where Linus was testing GeForce Now very recently and was saying how it was very hard to tell the difference unless you had a PC side by side. And that's gotten a lot better since we last looked at it a long time ago for a sponsored video back then. And it was fine back then, but you still had some [music] issues. So, in this video, we're going to be doing some blind testing. Firstly, we're going to be starting with a PC without a graphics card to kind of represent a budget [music] PC that would be used for game streaming. It does have RAM, though. Again, you got to have RAM, even though in this market, you got to have RAM. But really, you can go super cheap with this. You want a budget PC. The biggest [music] thing you need to have is a PC that has a good internet connection. Ethernet pretty much preferred. You can use Wi-Fi, but you will have more drop off in latency. And then something that supports a operating system that allows you to install the client for GeForce Now on the PC. Now, for this video, we're actually going to be using their ultimate plan from Nvidia, and it's actually 20 bucks a month, which I play more from my Netflix account for 4K video streaming. So, that doesn't seem too bad. And on screen, we're going to show the other plans that you can get as well. But from what I've heard, we're going to be basically playing on a 5080 with a Zeon. So, [music] this is in today's economy a couple thousand, few thousand build. Um, and we're going to be running this same PC later on with a graphics card, so it'll be like a respectable $1,000 to $1,200 PC. So, we're going to see can anyone notice the difference. It won't be side by side because we were talking about this off camera while we're planning. Realistically, the average gamer is not going to have both side by side to really be able to notice the difference between game streaming and not game streaming because that would be a boring video. People would notice the latency. But if you're just given a PC and say, \"Hey, have fun. Play games on it. What are you thinking while you're gaming?\" And you don't know whether or not it's game streaming or a native [music] gaming experience. Can people actually notice? Well, between PC Bros HQ and Toasty Bros, all under one building, we have a bunch of gamers at different levels of gaming. Some that do play a lot of games and some that don't play a lot of games. But we're going to dive into testing and see, can they notice [music] a difference. Now that we've gone over this entire test and what we're going to be doing, let's get a little more technical here and talk about the games we're going to be testing and how we're going to hide things from [music] people. And then we're going to be running the 1080p esports performance mode, which allows you to get up to [music] 240 FPS from that streaming PC and testing it on a high refresh rate monitor. This monitor is only 180 Hz, but I think it gets the point across for high refresh rate over game streaming. You'll still feel the smoothness that you're getting when [music] you are getting that image sent to your PC. And there's not really going to be any performance metrics. We're not really going to give any hints at first, but we're just going to be asking each person three questions. And that is how is the visual quality? Does does everything look okay? And the next question is going to be um how does the frame rate feel? Do you feel anything weird? Does [music] it feel really good? And then the last question is going to be how much do you think this PC is worth? So they're basically going to guess, you [music] know, how expensive or cheap the PC that they're playing on is. So more or less, we're not really going to have them compare side by side again because they won't be side by side. It's going to be the same system with and without a graphics card, gaming natively and game streaming. We're just going to get their input on the gaming experience and then reveal to them what PC they were actually playing on and give their reactions to you guys [music] at home so you can determine if game streaming is worth it. Let's get into some testing. All right, guys. Before we dive into the first test, we want to show you guys what settings we're using for the streaming service. So, currently we are on a custom preset because we wanted to run something at 1080p that has a higher FPS cap. And all the presets are either cinematic locked at 60 or the competitive which is like 240 [music] fps. So, we're running 1080p, the maximum bit rate you can do, which is 100 megabits per second, [music] 120 fps frame rate, which I could up, but I think we're just going to leave it because this >> we're not even getting that for Oblivion. >> We're not even getting in the game, so it don't really matter. VSYNC is set to adaptive by default, so it will start to adjust a little bit to try to reduce tearing and everything um just to make the game feel a little smoother. And then all these are default settings that we're just going to leave as [music] is. Last thing, too, we want to show settings. >> Yep. So, we're in Oblivion Remastered. So, uh, this is actually these are not the settings that we're running on this PC. Keep in mind we're running them on a 5080 PC. >> So, yeah, we're running a It went back to custom again. So, what [snorts] were we running? So, we're running high settings. >> Oh, it's it was custom because [music] when you scroll down, we turn off frame gen. >> Gotcha. So, frame gen off, DLSS set to quality. Those are the settings we wanted to run. Um, so that's what we're going to stick with. Everything else is the same. We're going to hit apply. So, back out here, let everything load in a little bit. And yeah. >> Yeah. On first impressions, it looks good. [music] Um, as we were saying to Jon off screen, this game is always, it's a Bethesda game. It's older. They're known for kind of having a little bit of that clunky feel. So, I'm curious if people will think, you know, it feels different than normal or not. >> I'm wondering if some people will start guessing. What kind of upscaling are we running? Is this frame gen? Is that what we're feeling? So, all right, let's look at our first test subject. Play this, walk around, and uh we'll ask you a couple questions. Wee kind of move around, you know, feel the uh the vibe and then um some stutters like I had a micro stutter right there when I was running. >> That might just be Oblivion.
